Dorris L. Thiessen

Dorris L. Thiessen, 80, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2012, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. She was a self-employed upholstery technician, owning Thiessen Upholstery.

She was born on June 15, 1931, in Council Grove, Kansas, the daughter of Charles E. and Louisa May (Blankley) Bersuch. Dorris graduated from McPherson High School in 1949. Dorris lived in McPherson from 1946 to 1950 and since 1970, moving from Palmdale, California.

Dorris was a former member of Eastern Star in California.

Survivors include: son, Greg Thiessen and wife, Charlene, of McPherson, KS; daughter, Diana Larson and husband, Mark, of McPherson, KS; brother, Steven Bersuch and wife, Lois, of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Krista Clinkscale and husband, Jason, Chad Larson, Dylan Thiessen, and Whitney Thiessen.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 1, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Cantrell officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
