Doris J. Morris, 81, of McPherson, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper for the Morris Garage in Burr Oak, KS, sales clerk at TG&Y, and a seamstress for Femco. She lived in McPherson since 1978, formerly of Burr Oak, Kansas.

Doris was born on April 16, 1929, in Nuckolls County, NE, the daughter of Herman and Mary Frances (Howard) Warneking. She attended high school in Superior, NE. On June 12, 1948, she was united in marriage to Keith E. Morris in Mankato, KS. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1978.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3:00 PM, in the Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, KS. Following burial, a reception will follow in the basement of the First Christian Church in Burr Oak. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Survivors include: daughter, Nancy J. Newport (John) of Canton, KS; son, Daryl Morris (Darla) of Newton, KS; brother, Howard Warneking (Mary Lou) of Loomis, NE; sisters, Rosa Lea Imhoff of Grand Island, NE and Elfrieda Giles (Leroy) of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
