Doris Mcgill

Doris L. McGill, 86, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lees Summit, Missouri. She was born on August 23, 1920, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Dana L. and Eva B. (Finkle) Voshell. She graduated in the class of 1938 from McPherson High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Education from McPherson College. She was a High School Physical Education teacher. She was formerly of Overland Park, El Dorado, and McPherson, Kansas.

In November of 1946, Doris was united in marriage to David T. McGill. He preceded her in death in 1977.

Doris was active in the American Red Cross, Freya Club, Presbyterian Church Circles, and the Kansas Women's Golf Association.

Her survivors include: her daughters, Patti McGill Rowe of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Toni Boehn of Lee's Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jessica, Katelyn, Hannah, and Michala; one niece, Janet DeTour; and two nephews, Bob DeTour and Larry DeTour. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister, Lorene DeTour, and a brother, Tony Voshell.

A Memorial Service is scheduled on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 10:30 AM at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
