Donna Sue Bruner, 64, of McPherson, passed away Friday, January 29, 2010, at Hospice House in Hutchinson. She was a homemaker and retired hair stylist and had also worked at Wal-Mart for several years. She had been a McPherson resident since 1974.
She was born February 4, 1945 in Fulton, Missouri, the daughter of Howard William and Lovey Nevada (Branham) Byrd. She attended the local schools in Fulton and graduated from Carver High School.
On July 26, 1965, she married Ralph Eugene Bruner in Fulton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2004.
Mrs. Bruner was an active member of Morning Star Baptist Church in McPherson and a volunteer at the Hutchinson Christian Soup Kitchen.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Morning Star Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at Stockham Family Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Cremation will take place following the completion of the funeral service.
Survivors include: four sons, Calvin Bruner and wife, Kim, Kevin Bruner and wife, Patricia, all of McPherson, Clinton Bruner and wife, Dara, of Wichita, KS, and Donald Bruner of Salina; a brother, James Howard Byrd of McPherson; fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a nephew, Paul Bruner, a niece, Sheree Bruner, and a sister-in-law, Mae Bruner, all of Fulton MO.
In addition to her husband, Ralph, she was preceded in death by her parents.
