Don H. Minner, 87, of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Chenal Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Don was born on May 1, 1920, in Lost Springs, Kansas, the son of Harry H.W. and Dora Edna (Mastin) Minner. Don received his Bachelor's Degree from Sterling College, Master's Degree from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, and Doctorate in Education from Oklahoma State Univeristy. He had lived in McPherson from 1988 to 2004, before moving to Little Rock, AR.
On April 5, 1945, he was united in marriage to Geraldine M. "Gerry" Delaney. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2002. Don was a retired teacher and professor. He taught at Mid-America Nazarene University, College of Emporia, and was Principal at Saffordville High School in Saffordville, KS.
Don was a member of the Free Methodist Church and had served in the Air National Guard.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Survivors include: his son, Dennis Minner of McPherson; daughters, Donna Robillard of Oklahoma City, OK and Jan Rice of Little Rock, AR; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gerry, a brother, Galen, and a sister, Violet Landis.
