Derald Keith Boldt, 87, formerly of Rice County, KS and Colorado, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, KS.

He was born August 20, 1937, in Lyons, KS, the son of Harold Leroy and Mildred Hazel (Dailey) Boldt. Derald graduated from Chase High School (Chase, KS), attended Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS), and graduated from Regent University (Denver, CO). He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

Derald worked as a software developer and retired from IBM near Denver, CO.

On September 12, 1998, Derald was united in marriage to Sarah Madeira (Fleming) Buckalew near Sweeney, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Boldt of Baytown, TX; son, Duane Boldt of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Diane Deardoff of Rice County, KS; step-children, Lynn Graham of Baytown, TX, Bob (Robin) Buckalew of Centerville, TX, Robyn (Bobby) Migues of Baton Rouge, LA, and Beth Gary of Owasso, OK; four siblings, Darleen Jamison of Phoenix, AZ, Sharon Malone of McPherson, KS, Kennard (Patricia) Boldt of McPherson, KS; Annette (Terry) Elder of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren, Alex Beebe, Brian Beebe, Naomi Bruckmeier, Brenda Boldt, Alan Boldt, and David Boldt; nine step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren & several step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LaVonne Boldt; son, Dwight Boldt; and brothers-in-law, Pat Malone and Jim Jamison.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Salem Church, 517 Avenue E, Bushton, KS, with Pastor Tom Reazin officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Salem-Friedhof Cemetery, Bushton.
