Dennis Embrey

Dennis Lee Embrey, 60, of McPherson, KS, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at McPherson Hospital.  He worked at Central Plastics and held the title of line setup operator.  He was one of a few employees on 2^nd shift who covered more than one title.  He worked as a material handler for several years, as well as a line operator and line prep person.  He also would be called upon to train new employees for each of these positions. 

Dennis was born on August 5, 1962, in Chamberlain, SD, the son of Lewis Lawrance and Janice Louise (Kelley) Embrey.  He graduated from McPherson High School in 1980.

Survivors include: his parents, Lewis & Janice Embrey of Lindsborg, KS; a sister, Connie Stark (Claus) of Smithville, MO; a son, Steven Embrey of Schulenburg, TX; a daughter, Megan Valenta (Garrett) of Moundridge, KS; step-children, Brooks Johnson of McPherson, KS, Zach Johnson of McPherson, KS, Chad Richert (Justin Cook) of Kansas City, MO, AshLeigh Brodin of Kansas City, MO, and Sierra Kerbs of Joplin, MO; a niece, Marissa Stark of Lafayette, CO; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott, Gabe Embrey, Nathan Scott, and Zoey Scott; his beloved dogs, Skylar and Riley; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Janel Embrey and Shannan Souder, and a brother, Christopher Embrey.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held on Monday, July 31 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the home of Lew & Jan Embrey, 2329 12^th Ave., Lindsborg.
