Deloris M. Williams

Deloris M. (Achilles) Williams, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a longtime resident of Windom and McPherson.

Deloris was born on March 18, 1927, in Copeland, KS, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Knackstedt) Achilles. She graduated from Windom High School and Adela Hale Business School in Hutchinson, KS. On September 8, 1946, Deloris was united in marriage to George R. Williams in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1996.

She was a member of Church of Christ, McPherson.

Survivors include: son, Dale (Diane) Williams of South Hutchinson, KS; daughters, Cynthia (Doug) Pierson of McPherson, KS, Nita (John) Grandestaff of Hutchinson, KS, and Patricia (George) Johnson of Lakewood, CO; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Myrtle Nelson and Opal Carlson, and brothers, Orville and Virgil Achilles.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 5, 2015, at Church of Christ, McPherson with Minister Gary Witcher officiating. Burial will follow at Windom Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 4, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.
