Delores Schmidt

Delores J. Schmidt, 70, of Lehigh, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was retired from Sanofi-Winthrop where she had worked in packaging as a light-tester. She also worked as a cook at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro, KS.

Delores was born on October 1, 1940, in Newton, KS, the daughter of Edward and Ruby (Adrian) Kasper. She was united in marriage to Willard E. Schmidt. He preceded her in death in September 2006. She was a resident of Lehigh, Kansas most of her life.

Her survivors include: son, Kelven E. Schmidt of Assaria, KS; daughters, Karen K. Christensen (Scott) of McPherson, KS and Marilyn D. Brumley (Bob) of McPherson, KS; mother; Ruby Kasper of Newton, KS; son-in-law, Donald Lewis of Lexington, TX; nine grandchildren, Bailey S. Schmidt, Carrah R. Christensen, Merissa F. Christensen, Caleb Lewis, Sean Lewis, Nathan Wedel, Joshua Wedel, Nolan Brumley, and Aubrey Brumley.

She was preceded in death by her father and daughter, Karla J. Lewis.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2011, near Lehigh Mennonite Brethren Cemetery (210th St. & Chisholm Trail) in Lehigh, KS with Rev. Jim Keil officiating.
