Dellabelle Leonard, 87, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. She had been a resident of McPherson since 1949, formerly of Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born December 4, 1919, at Sheldon, Missouri, the daughter of John David and Bertha (Berry) Teague. She graduated from Arcadia High School in 1937. On April 29, 1944, Dellabelle was united in marriage to William R. "Bill" Leonard at Fort Scott, KS. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday School and was the youth group organist, 50 year member of Oriental Chapter #58 - Order of the Eastern Star, Red Cross volunteer, Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader (all of McPherson), and Rebekah Lodge in Arcadia, Kansas.
Her survivors include: her husband, Bill, of the home; daughters, Dawn Wilkey of Lyons, KS and Billie Unruh and huband, Daryl, of McPherson, KS; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Leonard of Wichita, KS; brother, Wiley J. Teague of Arcadia, KS; five grandchildren, Mark Leonard and wife, Lynnette, of Omaha, NE, Beth Johnson and husband, Chad, of Lawrence, KS, Dallas Unruh of Wichita, KS, Dustin Unruh of Silsbee, TX, and Dillon Unruh of McPherson, KS; and two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Haylee Johnson of Lawrence, KS.
She was preceded in death by a son, John R. Leonard, a son-in-law, Hadley Wilkey, brother, John Raymond Teague, and two sisters, Daphyn Teague and Dawn Hamilton.
A graveside service and inurnment of the cremains will take place at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 20 at the Sheffield Cemetery, Arcadia, KS. There will be no visitation.
