Dean L. Price, 77, of McPherson, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at McPherson Hospital. He was retired from Farmer's Alliance Insurance Co., where he had worked as an Assistant Claim's Manager. He had been with the company for 34 years, retiring in 1996.
He was born January 13, 1934, in Arkansas City, Kansas, the son of John B. and Marie L. (Morgan) Price. He was a graduate of Southwestern College in Winfield and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.
On December 22, 1952, he married Alma U. Lindquist in Chanute, Kansas. The marriage was blessed with three daughters, Gaylene, Carla, and Pamela.
Dean was a member of American Legion Post #24, McPherson Hospital Volunteer Services, a life member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, Kansas Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators, and the Mid-Kansas Claims Association.
Survivors include: his wife, Alma of the home, three daughters, Gaylene Butler (Gary) of Lindsborg, KS, Carla Palmer (Mark) of Peru, KS, and Pamela Clark (Neal) of Lenexa, KS; two brothers, John Wayne Price (Shirlene) of Arkansas City, KS and Jerry Lee Price (Naomi) of Oxford, KS; nine grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, & Andrew Chaney, Brianna, Caitlyn, Zachary, & Caleb Schmidt, and Katherine & Robert Clark; a great-granddaughter, Aspen Chaney, and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and five sisters.
The memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, Nov. 4, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Inurnment with Military Honors will be in Crestwood Memorial Park, McPherson. There will be no visitation.
