Dean Glahn

Dean R. Glahn, 73, of Gypsum, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at his home. He was a farmer and stockman. Dean served in the United States Navy for four years.

Dean was born on March 28, 1938, in McPherson, the son of Henry and Gladys (Vermillion) Glahn. He graduated from Roxbury High School in 1955. On August 25, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Knaak in Hillsboro, Kansas.

Dean was member of the Roxbury United Parish.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann of the home; son, Gary Dean Glahn and wife, Jamie, of Gypsum, KS; daughter, Judy Ann Lawson of Salina, KS; brother, Don Glahn and wife, Chris, of McPherson, KS; four grandchildren, Lisa Ann Leiker and husband, Jason, Kyle Allen Lawson, Kendra Ann Lawson, and Rebecca Lynn Glahn; two step-grandchildren, Megan Lofton and Paige Lofton; two great-grandchildren, Conner Lawson and Callie Leiker; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Paul Dean Glahn, and sister, Glenna Olson.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 2, 2011, at the Roxbury United Parish with Pastor Nancy Modin officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
