David J. Starks

David John Starks, 59, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, surrounded by his family at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, KS. He worked for Pizza Co, Inc., Pear Tree Restaurant, Applegate’s Landing, and Pizza Hut delivery.

David was born on January 18, 1958, in Wichita, KS, the son of Melvin L. and Audrey (Jackson) Starks. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1976 and attended Hutchinson Community College and Wichita State University.

Survivors include: two sons, Ryan Starks (Ashley) of McPherson, KS and Matt Starks of McPherson, KS; daughter, Mollie Starks of Portland, OR; brother, Mark Starks of Hutchinson, KS; four grandchildren, Logan Starks, Luke Starks, Carlton Giacobbi, and Anna Claire.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Melvin Starks and Audrey Johnson; and granddaughter, Abbigail Lynn Starks.

The memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Empire Cemetery, Galva, KS.
