Dr. David E. Souder

Dr. David E. Souder, 68, of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital. He owned and operated Souder Chiropractic Clinic, dedicating himself to the McPherson community for 40 years.

David was born on December 11, 1946, in Bennington, KS, the son of Aubra T. and Eunice L. (Branum) Souder. He graduated from high school in Augusta, KS and Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, MO. He was united in marriage to Susan K. Brandt on February 25, 1967, in Valley Center, KS.

He attended New Hope Evangelical Church.

Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Susan of the home; four children, Shannan Souder (Dennis Embrey) of McPherson, KS, Scott Souder and wife, Shannon, of Kansas City, MO, Aric Souder and wife, Tara, of McPherson, KS, and Kelli Jarvis and husband, Matt, of Moundridge, KS; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubra and Eunice Souder; sister, Sally Puckett; and son, Patrick Souder.

The funeral service will be at held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2015, at New Hope Evangelical Church with Rev. Jim Keil officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, Nov. 6, at New Hope Evangelical Church with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
