Dale E. Renberger, 83, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
Dale was born in LaCrosse, KS, the son of Glen Henry and Laura Mae (Volkel) Renberger. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1943 and attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
On July 14, 1945, he was united in marriage to Dolores E. Nuss at Tucson, AZ. Dale served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a jeweler and owner of Renberger Jewelers and Renberger Hearing Aid Center.
Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church, American Gem Society, National Jewelers Assn., Past President of KS Jewelers Assn., Past President of McPherson Chamber of Commerce & McPherson City Center, McPherson BPU Board of Directors, and Lions Club International.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, February 9, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Les Cantrell officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Survivors include: his wife, Dolores of the home; a son, Terry Renberger & wife, Estelle, of McPherson; two daughters, Linda Freeland & husband, Dave, and Alana Schafer & husband, Larry, all of Salina, KS; two brothers, Everett Renberger & wife, Melba, of LaCrosse, KS and Duane Renberger & wife, Sheila, of Richland, WA; a sister, Joyce Clarke & husband, John, of Medicine Lodge, KS; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
