D. Lichty

Eugene Lichty, 92, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013, at McPherson Hospital. He was a Church of the Brethren pastor and was Director of Development for McPherson College.

Eugene was born on April 14, 1921, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Ray W. and Elizabeth (McRoberts) Lichty. He is a graduate of McPherson College (KS) and Bethany Theological Seminary (Chicago, IL). On August 20, 1944, he was united in marriage to Eloise Marie McKnight in Quinter, KS.

He was a member of the McPherson Church of the Brethren and served as a board member of On Earth Peace (Church of the Brethren).

Survivors include: wife, Eloise of the home; children, Jean Hendricks (Francis) of Abilene, Kansas, Marilyn Rosenow (Rob) of Tigard, Oregon, Dan Lichty (Lynne) of McPherson, Kansas, Kent Lichty (Lori) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Lyle Lichty (Ilona) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa; sister, Ruth Hoover of Ft. Washington, Maryland; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 27, 2013, at the McPherson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chris Whitacre officiating.
