Colleen Sharp

Colleen Joan (Vsetecka) Sharp, 68, formerly of McPherson, KS and Ellinwood, KS, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, surrounded by family in Hesston, KS.

Colleen was born on October 22, 1954, in Great Bend, KS, the daughter of William and Dolores (Suchy) Vsetecka.  She graduated from Great Bend High School and attended Brown Mackie College.  Colleen married the love of her life, Rick Joe Sharp, in 1975 and had three children.  She held various jobs including Wal-Mart in Great Bend for ten years until retirement.  Colleen loved gathering with family, writing letters, reading, listening to her vinyl music collection, enjoying car rides and caring for her pets. 

Survivors include a daughter, Melissa (Tony) Segovia of McPherson, KS; sons, Jeremy Sharp of LaCrosse, WI and Nicholas (Maureen) Sharp of McPherson, KS; grandchildren, Sheridan, Declan, Kameron and Lawson; brother, Craig Vsetecka of Great Bend, KS; and several nieces and nephews. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband of 42 years, Rick; and siblings, Morris Vsetecka and Pamela Vsetecka.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
