Cleta E. Tatro

Cleta E. Tatro passed away on May 15, 2024, at the age of 93.  Cleta was born on March 24, 1931, to Teletha Mae (Crane) Richardson and Estle Dale Richardson in Alva, OK. She attended Alva schools and graduated with honors in May 1948.

She married Don D. Tatro at the Alva First Christian Church on June 6, 1948. To this union four sons were born, Tom, Terry, Bob, and Gary. Don’s work took them to Pratt, Omaha, and finally to Hutchinson. In 1967, Cleta started working in sales and later as department head at Wiley’s Department Store for 13 years.  Don and Cleta then went into business for themselves until retirement in 1994.

Cleta is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Charles Richardson and Kenneth Richardson.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas L. Tatro and wife, Marla, of Broken Arrow, OK, Terry D. Tatro and wife, Pat, of Issaquah, WA, Bob D. Tatro and wife, Becky, of McPherson, KS, and Gary R. Tatro and wife, Jo, of Cheney, KS; 12 grandchildren, Anna, Ethan, Tammi, Kyle, Meghann, Chelsea, Audrey, Jessica, Zack, Breanna, Monica, and Morgan; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Alva, OK.
