Cleo R. Lundberg, 89, of McPherson, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. She was a retired receptionist for Dr. J. Richard Johnson. She also worked at the McPherson Sentinel in the advertising department.
Cleo was born on November 10, 1920, in Ranger, Texas, the daughter of Edward V. and Bertha Maud (Fink) Alton. She graduated from McPherson High School. On November 10, 1940, she was united in marriage to Jule C. Burnison. He passed away on November 23, 1954. On June 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Elton C. "Colonel" Lundberg. He passed away on May 30, 2002.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Past President of American Legion Auxiliary Harry B. Dorst #24, Life Member and Past 5th District President of the American Legion Auxiliary, Past President of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and Life Member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Leaf officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
Survivors include: two sons, Randy C. Burnison (Kathy) of Yorktown, Indiana and Brad J. Burnison of McPherson, Kansas; two grandchildren, Jon-Jon Burnison (Maggie) of Wichita, Kansas and Ashley Nelson (Ryan) of Raymore, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward V. and Bertha M. (Fink) Alton, husbands, Jule C. Burnison and Elton C. "Colonel" Lundberg, brother, J.E. Alton, and a sister, Helen.
