Christopher R. Embrey

Christopher “Skip” Robert Embrey, 53, of rural Lindsborg, KS, and formerly of McPherson, KS, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at his home in rural Lindsborg. He was a self-employed painting contractor.

Chris was born on January 3, 1967, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Lewis L. and Janice L. (Kelley) Embrey. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1985.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, McPherson.

Survivors include: his parents, Lewis and Janice Embrey of Claflin, KS; a brother, Dennis Embrey (Shannan Souder) of McPherson, KS; a sister, Connie Stark (Claus) of Smithville, MO; two nieces and one nephew; and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, March 19, at First Christian Church, McPherson, with burial following at Smoky Hill Cemetery, rural Lindsborg.

In accordance with Chris’ wishes, the family encourages everyone to wear casual attire to his service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Chris Embrey Memorial Fund in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
