Charlotte Maurine Gaddis was born August, 29, 1933, and peacefully passed away at Angel Arms on December, 2, 2024. Maurine was born in Coldwater, KS to Ray and Nell Jarnagin. She graduated in 1951 from Sun City, KS high school and attended one year of junior college in Pratt, KS.

Maurine was married in 1952 and blessed with two children: Nancy Jo Brown (Jerry) of McPherson, KS, and Jim L. Gaddis (Ann) of St. Francis, KS. She had three grandchildren, Kellie Case of Olathe, KS, Marci Ruxlow (Trenton) of McPherson, KS, and Chris Gaddis (Cindy) of Goessel, KS and one step-grandchild, Tiffani Floyd of McPherson, KS.

Maurine retired from Sanofi Winthrop in 1994 after 17 years in the Human Resources department. She kept in touch with the friends she made during her time there and liked to hear how the facility had changed throughout the years.

She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. It was a tradition for her to make homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. She especially loved baking sugar cookies with the little ones at Christmas time and seeing the results of their efforts.

Maurine had a competitive spirit. She was always up for a game of cards or dominoes and especially loved the game of golf. She won several trophies and prizes throughout her years of golfing and ended her golf career with a total of 6 holes in one. Maurine and her companion of 22 years, Bob Carpenter, played many rounds together. He passed in 2004.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church, McPherson, KS and a member of the Y.E.S. Sunday School Class. She served on different committees and on the church council.

Maurine is survived by her children, grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her brother, Tom Jarnagin of Beverly Hills, CA and her sister, Patsy Knowles (Glenn) of Coats, KS, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved companion, Bob Carpenter; her parents, Ray and Nell Jarnagin; her sister, Jo Soerries; her nephew, Vincent Soerries; and her brother-in-law, Mike Fittro.
