Charles Wiseman,

Charles M. Wiseman, Jr., the son of Charles M. Sr. and Maude Belle (Andrus) Wiseman, was born in Wichita, Kansas on April 23, 1920. He graduated from Douglass High School in 1940. On August 26, 1940, he was united in marriage to Avanell N. Clay on August 26, 1940, at Hutchinson, KS. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2006. Charles retired from the Mobile Oil Company where he worked as an Area Superintendent in the Pipeline Division. Charles had been a resident of McPherson since April 2000, formerly of Augusta, KS, Hill City, KS, and Douglass, KS.

He was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church (Douglass, KS), Masonic Lodge (Hill City, KS), and Kiwanis Club (Augusta, KS).

Charles entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at The Cedars, McPherson. He was eighty-six.

Survivors include: his daughter, Judy Carson and husband, Bob, of McPherson, KS; grandsons, Chuck Carson of Hutchinson, KS, Christopher Carson of Parker, CO, and Craig Carson of McPherson; twin brother, Harold Wiseman of Ft. Worth, TX; brother, Bruce Wiseman of Udall, KS; sister, Marion Flower of Wichita, KS; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Avanell, and two brothers, Elmer and Gerald Wiseman.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, Kansas with the Rev. Marvin Ewertt from the Douglass United Methodist Church officiating. There will be no visitation.
