Carrol "Scotty" Scott

Carrol E. “Scotty” Scott, 79, of McPherson, passed away Friday, February 25, 2011, at McPherson Care Center. He was a retired barber and owned & operated Scotty’s Barber Shop in McPherson. He also worked part-time at Turkey Creek Golf Course.

He was born May 15, 1931, in Salina, Kansas to Homer R. and Merle U. (Freeman) Scott. On December 31, 1953, he married Peggy J. Evans at Milledgeville, Georgia. Mr. Scott was a member of First Christian Church and American Legion Post #24. He was a former member of the McPherson Odd Fellows and served as Past Noble Grand and Secretary.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at First Christian Church. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Stockham Family Funeral home, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Cremation will take place after the funeral, with inurnment at McPherson Cemetery at a later date.

Survivors include: his wife, Peggy of the home; a daughter, Patricia Scott of McPherson; a brother, Harold Scott (Wanda) of McPherson; two grandchildren, Rebecca Swick of Olathe, KS and Chris Swick of Manhattan, KS. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary.
