Carolyn Samford

Carolyn S. “Sue” Samford, 70, of McPherson and formerly of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011, at The Cedars, McPherson. She worked as a receptionist for Conoco-Phillips in Oklahoma City for 20 years, retiring in 1992.

Sue was born on August 2, 1940, in Calumet, OK, the daughter of Ernest Ed and Dorthea L. "Dottie" (Walls) Watts. She graduated from Putnam City Central High School in Oklahoma City, OK. Sue was a member of the Cherokee Hills Christian Church in Oklahoma City, OK.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July, 26, 2011, at the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel, Oklahoma City, OK. Final resting place will be at Resurrection Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.

Survivors include: son, Clay Waterman (Christy) of Mansfield, TX and daughter, Dayna Foster (Jeff) of McPherson, KS; brothers, Howard Watts (Barbara) of Edmond, OK and Ronnie Watts of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren, Felisha McManus (Clayton) of Salina, KS, Johnathan McManus of Kansas City, MO, Chris Waterman of Mansfield, TX, and Casey Waterman of Mansfield, TX; three great-grandchildren, Nadia, Naomi, and Noah.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Watts.
