Borys (Bob) Bohonik, 67, of Strongsville, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Carrington Park Nursing Home in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was an architect and draftsman and had lived in the Cleveland, Ohio area most of his life.
He was born April 4, 1946 in Kiel, Germany, the son of Michael and Nadia (Savchenko) Bohonik. Survivors of concentration camps, the family immigrated from post-war West Germany to the United States in 1950. Bob received his formal education at Miami University of Ohio and Ambassador University in Pasadena, California. After college, Bob worked for a time in his career as an architect and draftsman. Bob spent most of his years living in the Berea, Strongsville, and Cleveland, Ohio areas.
Survivors include: two brothers, Nick Bohonik of Enumclaw, WA and Toli Bohonik and wife, Candace Hamilton Bohonik, of Enumclaw, WA; three nephews, Michael Bohonik of Enumclaw, WA, Joe Bohonik of Enumclaw, WA, and Kelly Bohonik of McPherson, KS; three nieces, Emily Hamilton of Seattle, WA, Jessica Bohonik of Seattle, WA, and Lindsay Bohonik of Kansas City, KS; and a great-niece: Paige M. Arlt.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Danny Bohonik.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 24, 2013 at McPherson Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
