Bonnie Mae Park, 87, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at McPherson Hospital. She was a homemaker and cook at Reed Junior High School in Springfield, MO.
Bonnie was born on February 17, 1928, in Iuka, KS, the daughter of Edward Walter and Anna Mae (Griffith) Helsel. She graduated from Central College, McPherson. On June 9, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gene Allen Park in Iuka, KS. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2014.
She was a member of McPherson Free Methodist Church.
Survivors include: three children, Joyce Siniard and husband, Tom, of McPherson, Kansas, Ronald Park and wife, Kathy, of Fort Worth, Texas, and son, Michael Park and wife, GeorgeAnn, of Tempe, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Tim Siniard and wife, Misty, Sarah House and husband, David, Jerad Park and wife, Katie, Bryce Park, Aubrey Schinnerer and husband, Eric, Courtland Park and wife, Bethany, and Garron Park; and one great-grandson, Tyler Siniard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Harold Helsel, Walter Helsel, Bob Helsel, and Charles Helsel, and three sisters, Neva Helsel, Helen Mitchell, and Gladys Helsel.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 22, 2015, at McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Griffith and Rev. Tom Mayse officiating. Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
