Billie Bookless

Billie Jean Bookless, 79, died peacefully at home after a long illness on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. She had lived in Overland Park, KS since 2009, formerly of McPherson, KS. She was born on March 8, 1933, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Floyd William "Bud" and Evelyn (McFadden) Morris. On August 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to Rex B. Bookless in Hutchinson, KS. They celebrated 54 years of marriage. Rex preceded her in death on January 18, 2008. She was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Kansas.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Floyd William "Bud" Morris and Evelyn Lynn, her husband, Rex Bookless, infant son, Corky Dean Bookless, and a granddaughter, Rebecca West.

She is survived by: daughters, Terri Bookless of Overland Park, Kansas; Kerri West of Arvada, Colorado; a son, Tod Bookless of Tukwila, Washington; and nine grandchildren.

Billie earned an Associate's Degree from Hutchinson Community College. She was a member of Silver Leaf Chapter - Order of the Eastern Star.

According to her wishes, there will be a private graveside service on Friday, September 28, at Fairlawn Burial Park in Hutchinson, KS with Rev. Kim Biery officiating.
