Beverly Cockrell

Beverly A. Cockrell, 78, of McPherson, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at the Wheatland Nursing Center, Russell, KS. She was born on Oct. 14, 1930, in Pratt, KS, the daughter of Forest Ferril and Wanita (Jenkins) Heling. On Oct. 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Francis E. "Gene" Cockrell in Pratt. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2008. She was a homemaker and had worked in the laundry department at a nursing home in Pratt, KS and also worked for the Pratt Tribune.

Beverly was a member of the VFW Post #2715 Ladies Auxiliary, and former member of the Elks Lodge in Pratt.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Survivors include: son, Charlie Cockrell and wife, Cindy, of Gorham, KS; daughter, Lynn Valentine and husband, Dennis, of Sterling, KS; brother, Ferril Heling of McPherson, KS; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
