Betty Jean Vasper

Betty Jean Vasper, 87, of McPherson, KS and formerly of Fayette, MO, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was a food service manager for Central Christian College in Moberly, MO.

Betty was born on August 4, 1928, in Harrisburg, MO, the daughter of Louis B. and Polly (Baker) Walker. On September 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Harley Eugene Vasper, Sr. in New Franklin, MO.

She was a member of Church of Christ, McPherson.

Survivors include: son, Gene Vasper and wife, Kim, of McPherson, KS; two granddaughters, Katherine and Christine Vasper, both of McPherson, KS; brother, Louis Walker and wife, Gladys, of Higbee, MO; nephew, Carl Walker of Houston, TX; and niece, Maria Walker-Gose of Fayette, MO.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Church of Christ, McPherson with Minister Gary Witcher officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time, Tuesday, at the church. The graveside service will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 27, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, near Fayette, MO.
