Bernard J. Bensing Jr.

Bernard “Butch” Joseph Bensing, Jr., 76, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2019, surrounded by his MCDS family at his home in McPherson. He worked at McPherson Industries, working with wood, leather, and beads.

Butch was born on May 18, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma, the son of Bernard Joseph, Sr., and Naomi Pauline (Smith) Bensing. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964.

He competed in Special Olympics in track and bowling. He enjoyed roaming around town in his power wheelchair. Old western movies were his favorite, especially the John Wayne movies.

Survivors include: his siblings, Ann of Lawrence, KS, Terry of Hutchinson, KS, and Sharon of Portland, OR; his DPOA, Vaughn Ingram of McPherson, KS; and his loving and caring MCDS family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

The funeral service will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, December 6, 2019, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Schroeder officiating.
