Avanell Wiseman

Avanell N. Wiseman, 84, of McPherson and formerly of Augusta, Hill City, and Douglass, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at The Cedars, McPherson. She was the daughter of Virgil and Mattie Warren (Elder) Clay. On August 26, 1940, she married Charles M. Wiseman, Jr. in Hutchinson, KS. She graduated from Douglass High School in 1939. She was a retired buyer & clerk for the C.R. Calvert Dry Goods Store in Augusta, KS and also was the Secretary Manager for the Chambers of Commerce in both, Augusta & Hill City. She was a member of the Douglass United Methodist Church in Douglass, KS.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at the Douglass United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Douglass Cemetery in Douglass, KS. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the Douglass United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: her husband, Charles M. Wiseman, Jr. of the home; her daughter, Judy Carson and husband, Bob, of McPherson, KS; three grandchildren, Chuck Carson of Hutchinson, KS, Christopher Carson of Parker, CO, and Craig Carson of McPherson; and eight great-grandchildren.
