Ava Nell Becker

Ava Nell Becker, 86, of Galva, KS, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at The Cedars, McPherson. She had worked as a housekeeper and nanny for Dale and Vonda Miller and also worked at Peoples Bank & Trust as a teller and in various other positions.

Ava Nell was born on December 10, 1931, near Galva, KS, the daughter of Herman Andrew and Dehlia E. (Unruh) Becker. She attended South Diamond School.

She enjoyed beading and crocheting and once made a beaded flower arrangement for Liberace.

Survivors include: a sister, Arletta Koehn of Galva, KS; nephews, Jay (Angel) Koehn of Galva, KS and Jarold Koehn of Canton, KS; niece, Joan (Jim) Norden of Lindsborg, KS; and several great-nieces & great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Dwight G. Becker; brother-in-law, Otis Koehn; and nephew, Jeffrey Koehn.

The visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 9, at Lone Tree Cemetery, Galva, KS, with Minister Gary Nightingale officiating.
