Audrey P. Starkey

Audrey Pauline Starkey, 96, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by family at McPherson Hospital.  She was a homemaker, and in her younger years, she was a secretary for the Rolls-Royce Factory and also worked on the production line at Sterling Drug. 

Audrey was born on April 10, 1926, in Derby, England, the daughter of Jack and Rosa Astill.  On December 11, 1944, Audrey was united in marriage to Clarence M. Ring in Derby, England.  He died November 11, 1975.  On October 10, 1981, she was united in marriage to George T. Starkey in Andover, KS. 

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. 

Survivors include: her loving husband of 40 years, George of the home; two daughters, Denise Turner of McPherson, KS and Diane Chaney of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Turner (Cathy) of Salina, KS, Jennifer Bruce (Corey) of McPherson, KS, Brandi Robinson (Mark) of Wichita, KS, and Lisa Nightingale (Brad) of Galva, KS; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and granddaughter, Julienne Turner.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 1, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.  Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.
