Audrey McNichols

Audrey M. McNichols, 83, of McPherson, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Memorial Hospital, McPherson. She was born September 25, 1923, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Homer R. and Maggie May (McClain) Spence.

She graduated in 1941, from McPherson High School and also attended McPherson College.

On May 8, 1949, she was united in marriage to Joseph "Joe" M. McNichols. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1975.

Audrey worked for Farmer's Alliance Mutual Insurance Co. as a claims manager, retiring in 1988 after 46 years of employment.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Past Noble Grand of Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #86, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Associate Member of the Second Marine Division.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 29, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, McPherson with Rev. Les Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 28, 2007, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Her survivors include: brothers, E. Richard Spence of Inman, KS and Dwight Spence of McPherson, KS; and several nieces & nephews.
