Amos W. Rogers, 94, of McPherson, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at The Cedars, McPherson. He was a retired ditching contractor.
He was born on October 21, 1919, in Roxbury, Kansas, the son of William Penn and Lilly (Meyers) Rogers. He graduated from Roxbury High School. On June 29, 1941, Amos was united in marriage to Floriene Berg in Russell, Kansas.
Amos served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2715, American Legion Post #24, and First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife of 72 years, Floriene of the home; son, Kenneth W. Rogers (Joan Berg) of Peabody, KS; friend & caregiver, Sheila Smidt of McPherson, KS; and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother, Cleo Rogers, and two half-sisters, Lottie Tector and Flossie Schulz.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 20, 2014, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury, KS.
