Alvin Edward Tinsley, 81, of Inman, KS, and formerly of McPherson, Canton, and Great Bend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was a farmer and worked at Hesston Corporation as a maintenance technician. He also served in the Army National Guard.
Alvin was born on September 7, 1938, in Canton, KS the son of Charlie Alvin and May Ellen (Harmon) Tinsley. He graduated from Canton High School and attended McPherson College.
He was a member of Canton United Methodist Church and volunteered for Canton EMS.
Survivors include: three children, Gina Davenport (Keith) of Hoschton, GA, Dori Nunez (Moises) of Ottawa, KS, and Lori Cavanaugh (Mike) of McPherson, KS; brother, Galen Tinsley (Delaine) of Canton, KS; sister, Maida Laughlin of Canton, KS; four grandchildren, Vicki Fickes (Ed), Travis McKee, Dakota Cavanaugh, and Makayla Cavanaugh; and three great-grandchildren, Lyle Fickes, Anthony Fickes, and Phoenix Fickes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Bonnie Russell, and a granddaughter, Jessa Cavanaugh.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 15, 2020, at First United Methodist Church, McPherson, with Rev. Emily Spearman Cannon officiating.
