Albert P. Schaefer

Albert “Rabbit” P. Schaefer, 84, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at his home in McPherson. He had worked for M.E. White Pipeline, McPherson Pipeline Construction/McPherson Energy, and J & J Pipeline Construction & Supply.

Albert was born on April 26, 1932, in Linn, MO, the son of William B. and Angela A. (Schroeder) Schaefer.

Survivors include: son, James Von (Debbie) Schaefer of Windom, KS; daughter, Angela Schaefer of Dodge City, KS; five brothers, Bob (Esther) Schaefer of Bonnots Mill, MO, Jerry (Judy) Schaefer of Wolf Lake, IL, Dick (Kay) Schaefer of Wolf Lake, IL, Eugene Schaefer of Cypress, IL, and Tom (Susan) Schaefer of Columbia, MO; three sisters, Joan (Leo) Fischer of Thebes, IL, Lillian Luckenotte of Holts Summit, MO, and Susan (Jim) Evers of Holts Summit, MO; six grandchildren, Jake Schaefer, Casey Dansel, Lacey Bamberger, Tanner Julian, Terie Julian, and Remington Carlson; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Donna Kaye Carlson, and sister, Betty “Bets” Thoenen.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 9, 2016, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mound Township Cemetery, Moundridge, KS. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 8, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
