Agnes V. Hoke, 92, of Buhler and formerly of McPherson, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Buhler Sunshine Home. She was retired from the Central College Cafeteria Services and Mail Room.
Agnes was born on June 1, 1917, in Mound Valley, KS, the daughter of James Preston and Elizabeth Belle (Shearhart) Monroe. On September 16, 1935, she was united in marriage to John Oliver Hoke in Mound Valley, KS. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1971.
Agnes was a member of the McPherson Free Methodist Church.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the McPherson Free Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Livermore, Rev. Deborah Somerville, and Rev. Tom Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Survivors include: sons, John R. Hoke (Debra) of Garden City, KS and George E. Hoke (Paula) of Buhler, KS; daughters, Reba L. Davis (James) of Gardner, KS, Shirley L. Keesler (Everett) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Alice V. Livermore (Paul) of Rochester, NY; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and nine brothers & sisters.
