A. Peterson

A. Linn Peterson, 90, of McPherson, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2010, at the McPherson Care Center. Linn served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II, Pacific Theater of Operations. He served 5 terms as County Clerk for McPherson County and 26 ? years as City Clerk for the City of McPherson.

Linn was born on April 26, 1920, in rural Lindsborg, KS, the son of Anton P. and Emmie Jane (Linn) Peterson. He graduated from McPherson High School in 1938 and received his Bachelors Degree from K-State in 1942. On June 3, 1950, Linn was united in marriage to Mary V. Peterson.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #24, Rotary Club, Gideons International, and McPherson County Historical Society.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 9, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation is from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Survivors include: his wife, Mary V. Peterson of the home; daughter, Marilyn J. Patterson (Stanley) of Salina, KS; son, Truce C. Peterson (Kim) of McPherson, KS; sister-in-law, Freda Peterson-Gooch of Oklahoma City, OK; and four grandchildren, Judd Patterson, Jessie Patterson, Lindsey Peterson, and Taryn Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton P. and Emmie Jane (Linn) Peterson, and a brother, Paul Peterson.
